Izmir which is the most enormous fair area of Turkey was founded on 421.000 m2 area, in 1936. It was found due to the economic, social, cultural, diplomatic relations with the global nations.

The idea of founding the fair was Atatürk’s wish and in 1927 Dr. Behçet Uz who was the mayor of the term, opened ‘’9th September Native Properties Exhibition’’ in the area that today’s Grand Efes Hotel stands in.

In 1936, Izmir international fair was established with the idea of organizing the cultural park as a result of the exhibition with the quality of being national fhat had a speedy success and with the accompany of the foreign nations. Izmir Fair has its specific place in the Turkish economy.

This Fair is one of the leading organizations that can not be fulfilled with its cultural, artistic quality and more importantly its effects in the tourism of the city and the country.
