With its ssharp archesthat get thinner as the terace gets higher, its small domes, mukarnas workmanship and stone workmanship full of geometric figures that surround the tower it is a very graceful sight to see. The clock of the tower was given as a present by the German Emperor Wilhem II. Under the Clock Tower, which is accepted as the symbol of Izmir is a room which has fountains on all for corners.

Asansör ‘’The Lift or The Elevator’’:
In 1907 an elevator was built to make access from Mithatpaşa Street to Halilrıfatpaşa easier, because of the height difference between the two districts. People use to climb 155 steps to go to Halilrıfatpaşa which was 50 m heigh. The elevator tower which was built here united the two districts. In this tower there are two elevators. The one on the left worked with steam where as the one on the right worked with electricity. With restoration in 1985 electricity was used to run both these elevators. With a second restoration in 1994 Asansör ‘’elevator’’ street was ready for service with a few charges made with the surroundings.
